Tuesday           1. Biome symposium posters board project

                        2. H.W. – optional review for quiz Biomes  (text web page activity 34C, D)

                             -Complete Chapter 34 review pg. 700-701 (1-21)  & practice questions

                        3. H.W. - Take home Quiz on quiz star: biosphere & biomes ch. 34

 

Wednesday     1. Meet in computer lab

                       2. Text reading: Ch. 37 pgs. 742-753 (37.1-10)  (*answer these questions)

                       3.  Use online text web page and complete the following: (submit to TUOL)

                                   a.  Activity 37A: Interspecific Interactions (view 2 videos 37.6)

                                   b.  Activity 37B: Primary Succession (view 2 videos 37.9)

                        

 

Thursday         1. Meet in library computer lab    (*notes on board)

                       2. Redo 37A from Wednesday, listing all interactions for each level

                                - print and check (short cut to science) turn in to me today            

                       3. Use online text web page and complete the following: (submit to TUOL)

a.  Activity 37C: Food web

b.  Thinking as a scientist: How are impacts on community diversity measured?

c. d.   Complete key concept quiz

                       4. Read over lab for tomorrow - this will involve some *physical activity*

 

Friday              1. Predator prey simulation lab

                             - Go outside to conduct simulation lab – collect data

2. Complete graphs and answer questions – due Monday

    (graph paper) (Create a graph)    **Class data: 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th

 

 

Objectives

                                                                                               

  1. Discuss the different components that make up an ecosystem and how they interact.
  2. Examine the four laws of ecology.
  3. Define habitat and niche.
  4. Discuss Trophic levels and how energy flows through them.
  5. Examine the similarities and differences of a food chain and food web.
  6. Compare and discuss the meaning of different ecological pyramids (energy flow).
