Wednesday     1. Post up all faces from “make a baby simulation lab”

                        2. Discuss, check & correct answers for lab

                        3. H.O. - Practice Pedigree problem 2

                        4. Review for quiz: H.O Patterns of Inheritance  (pdf format)

5. H.W. – (optional) Listen to mp3 tutor: Chromosomal Basis of Inheritance

 

 

Thursday         1. Meet in library computer lab

                        2. Quiz: Genetics

                        3. Text reading Ch. 10 pgs. 180-83 (use online text)

4. Using the online text web page complete activity:

- 10A Hershey-Chase experiment and summarize your findings

     (What were they trying to figure out?  How did they go about testing it? What did they find out?)

5. Answer this question: (at least a half page typed on the same sheet as number 4 above, but separate parts)

- Early in the 20th century the identification of the molecule responsible for inheritance was a major challenge. Describe in your   words the events/experiments that lead to the discovery that DNA was in fact the molecule responsible for carrying genetic material.

Objectives

1. Complete practice questions dealing with the concepts of genetics in preparation for the quiz

2. Discuss the genetic outcome and basis for the baby simulation lab.

3. Investigate the history of the discovery of DNA and build a model of DNA.
